Our Story

Silversmiths is a multi award-winning family run and independently owned restaurant in Sheffield. We present a true Yorkshire dining experience that is founded on history and embraces fresh innovative sourcing and presentation. Our ethos is to select the best Yorkshire produce, support regional farmers and bring our customers a true field to plate experience.

Team Silversmiths underpins our success. With Head Chef Lee Mangles at the helm, our kitchen brigade has been in place for 5 years and has grown into a tight-knit unit that work together, learn together and play together. Front of House is led by owner Justin Rowntree, a Sheffielder born and bred, passionate about his home city and the county of Yorkshire which is evident in every aspect of Silversmiths.

Silversmiths Restaurant is the Yorkshire Restaurant. Why? We pride ourselves on our heritage, supporting local producers and investing in the local community. We wanted to create a place that personifies the best of Yorkshire food, hospitality and creativity, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere where diners feel like one of the family. Come and join us where the welcome is always warm.

Seasonality

Our ethos is to select the best Yorkshire produce, support regional farmers and bring our customers a true field to plate experience. Our chefs develop dishes in line with the seasons which means our menus change monthly. Everything that is served from our kitchen has been prepared, preserved, pickled, roasted, baked, mixed and handmade by our chefs.

Our Suppliers

All our suppliers are Yorkshire based so every time you eat at Silversmiths you’re investing in the local economy. The meat is hand reared from local farms. Much of our seasonal fruit, vegetables, berries & herbs are handpicked from kitchen gardens and foraged from local woods and fields. Click here to read more about our suppliers
